Stock Values

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to our farm yesterday. Good fun was had by all. Kids enjoyed flying their kites, playing on our brand new play set (thanks Tom L.!), being packed by chickens, feeding goats and just being kids. The weather mostly cooperated and it was rather pleasant outside well into the evening. The only exception was Joey's rocket launch, which had to be postponed due to the otherwise mild wind.

We were especially excited to have over Nick with his son Bernie from Indiana, whom we have not seen since before Sofae was born, as well as welcome our youngest guest, Henry William, making his first appearance at the farm. Other first time guests included our new friends Misha and Zina with kids and Sasha and Anzhela with kids, and my sister's old friends Kendra and Aaron with their daughter Sierra.

Aaron and I were the only stragglers still left searching for the meaning of life by the ashes of the fire well past 11 pm, while Kendra and Lena chased after Sierra and Sofae, who were chasing after each other around the house in a car and a tricycle.

Don't be surprised if you don't find yourself, as she concentrated on the kids - the ones that couldn't outrun her! :) She also snapped a close-up picture of our one uninvited transient guest - a tiny bat that slept through the whole affair, attached to a wall behind a bench and left with the last rays of sun.

We were extremely disappointed that many of the families with kids under five could not join us at the last moment - Ellen and Shai, Oleg and Tanya, Julia and Jim, Misha and Yulya, Tom and Donna - we really hope to see you all next time, on Sunday, July 4th - same time, same place! In the meantime, we would love to see more of all of you, our friends and family. If you have a chance to stop by some other time, just give us a call and let us know!
