Sofae's 2nd birthday

Sofae turned two on MLK day and just like last year, we moved the big celebration to the following Sunday. We did have my sister, mom (wow, she actually came!) and dad over earlier in the week, but on Sunday the house was filled with 15 adults and 14 children (that's if you count Missy as a child).

I ordered 15 one topping large Domino's Pizzas - all hand tossed crust and all veggie and once again my sister picked them up for us. Turned out that Domino's threw in one extra pie. We ordered 5 pizzas too many as it was and really need it, but thank you, Domino's anyway. We gave some of the extra pizzas to our guests, as they were leaving, so they didn't go to waste. And by the way, the new pizza recipe that Domino's has been advertising lately was quite good. I especially liked the powdered garlic on the edge of the crust.

Kids were running around and having a blast, as kids usually do. Jason was immersed in his portable video game at first, but as more kids arrived he joined in the fun with the rest of them. Samantha was a ball of energy. We will go to her 4th birthday party at B&C BounceTown in Longmont on Sunday after next.

Shai (Samantha and Cameron's dad) brought a metal detector and we went hunting for treasures. The wind was strong and chilly and we quickly gave up after finding only small scraps of aluminum. It was fun, though and we will have to do it again once the weather warms up a bit.

As guests were leaving I finally reached for the camera and snapped this shot of Lena with Sofae and Misha with his two kids - Nathan and Gelya. I really like Natik - such a cutie. He is almost three years old.
