Looks like market participants are one hell of a nervous bunch these days. They look to any news for market direction and then take it to the extreme. Yesterday NASDAQ was up 3%, today it is down 2%. Any guesses as to what will happen tomorrow?! Not from me... Looking at the madness out there, I know there are finally some good deals out there. Intel got dumped on the news of 57% drop in earnings and took all of the semis with it! What about the semiconductor equipment manufacturers, though? Their outlook is as rosy as can be. Yet, Applied Materials (AMAT, the sector leader got dumped again - this time to a new 12 month low! "Ridiculous," I say, "it's impossible that everyone playing this stock is a pure technician" and I buy in at 15.37. I know I am early, as ususal, and the market takes it even lower before close, but I don't want to miss this bargain...
