My local small business hero: Sewer repairman - Troy Guernsey
This blog entry is neither an endorsement nor an advertisement for Troy Guernsey or his company. I am only sharing my positive experience for the benefit of others.
Have you ever wondered why it is that people like to complain so much? What is that motivates folks to share their negative experiences, while they quickly forget all the positive ones? Is it human nature to concentrate on the negatives? Do frustrations affect us in a deeper more meaningful way than positive experiences? Are negative emotions always stronger than the positive?...
I am not a psychiatrist and don't have all the answers. Nevertheless, I would like to begin chipping away at negativity by sharing a very positive experience I had yesterday with a local small business person - a sewer repairman. This was only one of the many great experiences I have had over the past several years. Each one of them - a bright and lasting memory, patiently waiting to come out in a flash of inspiration - hopefully soon. But now, without further ado, I'd like to present my local small business hero from yesterday, Troy Guernsey.
Troy showed up at 7:30 AM, just as he promised the night before, to verify the problem I described to him over the phone. He soon left and returned with another Guernsey Grading & Excavating employee and their older backhoe-equipped CAT tractor. In under two hours Troy, Rick and CAT dug up and replaced an 8' section of my sewer main. Finally, a nasty problem that persisted for years had been solved.
The 40 year old Troy told me that he followed in his father's footsteps early on to get into the sewer-septic tank-leech field-excavating business. Troy loves his work and prices it very competitively. He lives in Bennett, Colorado and services the greater Denver area. You can reach Troy at (303) 644-3299.
