Stock Values - What are they?
Have you stopped to think why this site has a StockValues.Org domain name?
That's a great question and I would like to begin answering it by referring to the Free online dictionary definitions of "stock" and "values."
According to this dictionary "stock" can refer to all of the following:
1: regular, traditional, basic
2: the degree of status a person has
3: any part of a plant
4: domestic animals
5: goods, commodities, investments
According to the same dictionary "values" can be:
1: beliefs of a person or social group in which they have an emotional investment
2: principles, standards, or qualities considered worthwhile or desirable
3: worth in usefulness or importance to the possessor; utility or merit
4: monetary or material worth
Relying on the above definitions, I derived the following set of meanings for "stock values":
1: traditional principles
2: status beliefs
3: important plants
4: useful animals
5: worthy investments
I really liked the wide range of ideas contained within this simple phrase, which on the one hand covers my personal interests in: gardening, poultry and investments and on the other - supports the idea of traditional principles and uncompromisable values, which are central to my set of beliefs.
Most of my blog entries so far have been about worthy investments, but with time, I hope to add much more info on all the planting I have been around the house, as well as on my successes and failures as a chicken farmer.
So, that's the story behind StockValues.Org domain name, except the .org domain extension, which I preferred, because it was originally intended for use by non-profit organizations. And that's the whole story!
